Why every man needs a blazer in the closet

In Rwanda, blazers are a daily item from office to parties and other evening gatherings especially in cold season. No occasion passes without a glance at men well dressed in simple but stylish blazers in different colours.

Most worn colours are white, black, navy blue, khaki, brown and red. Some fashionistas especially local artists have taken the blazer to a trending level (African print blazer). An example is traditional singer Mani Martin.

Here is why every man should have a blazer in his closet:

It’s masculine

The world’s most manly men David Beckham to mention are pretty much always in some sort of blazer, which is basically like an express ticket to being a gentleman. After all, the only reason people care about clothes in the first place is to attract other people so that they can take them off.

It plays well with others

The blazer is one of the few items of clothing in a man’s wardrobe that can work with anything from black tie to a T-shirt. With the blazer in a man’s wardrobe, the possibilities are endless.

It hides doughnuts and pizza

A formfitting blazer can create a completely new silhouette for your body even if you have been skipping the gym. Whether it’s love handles, a spare tire or flabby forearms, the clean lines of a blazer will instantly lean you out.

A blazer is a type of jacket resembling a suit coat cut more casually, typically with metal buttons. It’s generally a more formal garment and mostly tailored from solid color fabrics.

Blazers are worn with wide variety of other clothes, ranging from a shirt and tie to an open-necked polo shirt. They are worn with trousers of all colours, from the classic white cotton or linen, to grey to brown or beige chinos as well as jeans.
