Battle for Miss Rwanda title intensifies
In two monthstime, one beauty queen will be crowned Miss Rwanda 2014, taking over the crown from Umutesi Aurore who has been hoding it since September 2012.
As is the norm, registration has been taking place in all four provinces of the country including Kigali city.
And as registration takes place organizers have asked the public to have faith and trust ahead of auditions. The public is also being asked not to view the beauty pageant as a platform that aids in eroding the Rwandan culture.
Ishimwe Dieudonné, who is among the organizers, while speaking to the media said, “The girls are kept in a camp where cultural values are taught to them. They are also taught on different topics that include patriotism and civic education, so that is the complete opposite of culture erosion.”
A total of fifteen girls will be chosen to compete for the crown of Miss Rwanda 2014. Participants should fulfill the following criteria: be of Rwandese nationality, aged between eighteen and twenty five years and measure at least 1,70m. Candidates are also asked to be confident during auditions and to be fluent. The finale will take place on February 22nd 2014.
